Principal's Message

Welcome to the McKee Village where we believe all students can and do learn with the right supports!

James McKee first opened its doors to educating students in 1963. Since then, we have committed ourselves to providing a comprehensive learning environment that remains flexible, relevant, equitable, and is culturally-responsive. Our programs have evolved, but our commitment to providing high-quality, research-based instruction remains steadfast. Our programs and curriculum are based on state standards and adhere to our district’s strategic goals. We ensure that our students are college, career, and life-ready to become productive contributors in a global society.

James McKee operates on a traditional school calendar. We serve over 500 students in general education and more than 100 students in our PreK and Special Education programs. Although we are not considered a Title 1 site, 59% of families receive free and reduced lunch. Our families are culturally diverse and represent more than 10 different languages. The programs offered at McKee ensure that our students are prepared to matriculate to middle school while ensuring that students are introduced to a wide variety of after school programs. Below a few of our activities and programs:

  • After School Education and Safety (ASES)
  • Champions
